"Pure java greens are one of the most rare breeds and most unique of peafowl.The brilliantly colored Java Green peacock and peahen are easily distinguished from other peafowl because of their longer legs, longer neck, slender body, and very tall crest (see Green male pictured at right)."
Obviously, this bird must never be bred to a green peafowl as its hybrid origins will pollute the green blood pool. However, as discussed earlier, the specimen is nothing less than an invaluable HEIRLOOM founder.
PLEASE help get all these hybrids into a directory and pedigree program before they permanently destroy the the captive green peafowl gene pool. |
